Family & Children’s Services (FCSGW) has a strong belief in the value of prevention, early help, community partnerships and collaboration. We built our community-based service model by focusing on a continuum of services ranging from prevention and early help, to family support, temporary care, and adoption. This service model is also based on the concept that protecting children is a broad community responsibility that can best be achieved through a network of partnerships.
In support of this community-based service model, FCSGW has nurtured the development of a number of significant community partnerships over the years. These include the Shelldale Centre, Kindle Communities Inc. and local neighbourhood groups. These partnerships provide early help and supports for families to offset the need for more intrusive actions.
