Your input and action as a volunteer Board member with Family & Children’s Services of Guelph and Wellington County will help to make children’s lives better

Help us to provide a community where children are safe, secure and nurtured in permanent, loving families. Your time and expertise are valued!

Who We Are: We are a charitable, non-profit agency that works together with children, youth, their families and the community to foster greater safety and well-being for those children and youth. We are privileged to share collaborative working relationships with many other commendable agencies throughout Guelph and Wellington County. We are committed to having our Board, staff, foster parents, and volunteers represent the diverse composition of our community.

These are unpaid, volunteer positions.

Commitment: The Board of Directors meets on the first Wednesday evening of every month for 3 hours and each Board member is expected to serve on a committee for an additional 2-3 hours per month, plus meeting preparation time. Board members are elected for 3 year terms and are eligible to serve for a total of 9 years.

Qualifications:

  • Commitment to the well-being of children and families in the community
  • Leadership in a professional work environment
  • Previous Board experience is an asset

Guelph-Wellington is home to many diverse families, and our organization is committed to having our Board, staff, foster parents, and volunteers represent the composition of our community.

Successful Board applicants will stand for election to the Board of Directors at the Annual General Meeting in June.

All of our Board members:

  • Live or work in Guelph or Wellington County;
  • Are current Society Members ;
  • Have an interest in children and child welfare;
  • Support the Mission, Vision and Values of F&CS; and
  • Are interested in advocating for the needs of children.
